Week 1

 Hello support team!

I just started my first week of the apprenticeship!  Thank you for supporting me and praying for me to make this possible.  I am looking forward to seeing how God will work this year around me and telling you all about it! (I'll be sending monthly blogs you can be on the look out for). The things I will learn in classes and the conversations I will have with students will happen because of your partnership with me in the mission. So thank you again!

Week 1 was well spent with God's people all preparing our hearts to serve college students this school year.  On Sunday we had our Licensing and Commitment Ceremony.  There are 19 apprentices on the various campuses that FOCUS serves in DFW.

This year the other apprentices and I are going to be reading quite a bit!  These are all our books for our classes (featuring Steven).

Meet the Denton team!  Drew, Darby, Ryan, Reagan, Cole, Shayla, and Steven.

These are the people I will be working with the closest to serve the students of Texas Woman's,  University, University of North Texas, and North Central Texas College.

Shayla will be supervising me this year as I learn more about following Jesus and college ministry. She was an apprentice at my school my freshman year of college and now I get to meet with her weekly and learn from her experience.

Darby was my mentor last year when I was a student leader. Now I get to serve on staff with her!

Today we leave with our student leaders for a trip we take each year called the Student Institute of Campus Ministry (SICM). This is a week of speakers and notetaking to prepare our students for campus evangelism and discipleship.

Please be praying for our students and staff to be open to what God wants to teach them this week and for students on campus to have open hearts as we reach out to them during welcome week.

Thank you for reading!
Becca
